About IMA
International Market Advisor
International Market Advisor (IMA) works with British embassies, high commissions and international chambers of commerce throughout the world. Our work has helped to identify the most efficient ways for British companies to trade with and invest in opportunity-rich overseas markets.
IMA works in association with UK Trade & Investment (also known as UKTI), UKTI is the British government department that brings together the work of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), UKTI is an international organisation with London and Glasgow headquarters. Across the network there are 2,300 staff and advisers, including those overseas (in UK embassies, high commissions, consulates and trade offices). In total, there are over 150 UKTI overseas offices in around 100 markets. One of UKTI's main objectives is the support and promotion of UK trade and investments overseas.
IMA in association with UKTI produces multi-media based reports, the 'Market Advisor' CD ROM publication series and 'Doing Business in Guides'. The reports, publications and guides are then distributed across the UK to key strategic points such as UKTI's network of International Trade Advisors (ITA), local government Business Link centres and regional chambers of commerce. Additional distribution takes place at UKTI related road-shows, seminars, conferences, exhibitions and trade missions where our work can be directly accessed free of charge by those involved in international trade.
