Over one year on from the challenges of 2011 and Japan is very much open for business. UK companies that already have a foothold in the market continue to build upon solid relationships with Japanese customers, clients and the government, and are supporting the recovery of the north east's communities and infrastructure. Companies that are considering branching out into the market are encouraged to join those who are already succeeding, as it is increasingly apparent that, during this period of regeneration, unprecedented trade and investment opportunities exist.

The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) supports and promotes the business interests of all member companies and works to strengthen cultural and economic ties between the UK and Japan. We create value for our membership by offering a wide range of events, information services and networking opportunities and currently serve a network of over 700 members. We also endeavour to introduce new foreign business into the Japanese market, and encourage Japanese investment into the UK; this mission is supported by our close working links with the British Embassy Tokyo and the European Business Council.
