Panasonic confirm £2m investment in Cardiff
A new fuel cell research and development centre is to be created
in Cardiff as part of a £2m investment by Panasonic.
The move was part of a package of £200m of deals announced
yesterday as Prime Minister David Cameron visited Japan.
It is unclear how many jobs will be created, although the
significance of the announcement comes from the company developing
its latest technologies in Wales rather than in terms of
headcount.
Despite the UK Government announcement of the investment
yesterday, the Panasonic Europe press office was unable to provide
any specifics of what was planned in Cardiff, with a spokeswoman
saying it was awaiting details from Japan.
