Birtley based Komatsu send four workers to Japan
Paul Dryden, Paul Phillips, Daniel Mason and Ian Chantler, all
employees of the Birtley-based facility, are gearing themselves up
for a trip to Osaka, after success at the recently held Komatsu UK
staff Olympics.
One of the aims of the Japanese competition, which is now in its
35th year, is to provide Komatsu employees and key suppliers with
the opportunity to demonstrate the high level of skill and
technical ability required to work in the various disciplines of
fabrication, painting, assembly and parts inspection.
In total 56 people took part in the Komatsu UK competition,
including permanent and temporary staff, apprentices and
suppliers.
